
The Adoption Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the adoption process for prospective adoptive parents (PAPs). They will ensure each adoption case is worked on in a timely manner in accordance with the policies and procedures which fulfill state and accreditation regulations. This role does not provide social service functions that require the application of clinical skills and judgment.
Salary Range: $40,000-45,000 per year, plus benefits. This is a full-time salary position and includes benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, etc. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience and applicant qualifications.
Responsibilities:Prepares and updates clients on requirements, documents and other country or programs specific changes that may affect their adoption.Answers client questions about fee schedules, processes, immigration filing, dossier documents, referral acceptance procedures, travel, and timelines.Communicates with Foreign Service Providers.Registers clients with the Central Authority in the foreign country.Refers clients to IAN’s Child Placement Supervisor or other appropriate specialist (doctor, social worker, etc.) to assist with questions that require clinical experience.Tracks U.S. and foreign country deadlines.Processes adoption related documents.Oversees PAPs planning and preparation for travel to the foreign country.Maintains client and employee confidentiality per HIPAA, and other confidentiality laws.Other duties, as assigned.
Knowledge and Job Skills:Excellent and timely communication with and guidance for clients during their adoption process.Moderate computer knowledge and office applications such as scanners, printers, computer programs commonly used to include Google Drive, Gmail, Word, Excel, industry client database, Jot form/Adobe/DocuSign or similar, or basic skills but with a demonstrated interest to learn and become more proficient within IAN’s systems, etc.Ability to exercise use of discretion and independent judgment.Willingness to learn and understand the general regulatory compliance environment which governs adoption agencies within Colorado, Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption, and foreign countries served by IAN.Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills.Ability to follow oral and written instructions, multitask and work independently.Excellent time-management skills.Friendly, positive attitude when engaging with others.Works effectively and collaboratively as part of a larger team.Seeks and receives feedback appropriately.Reliability with attendance and work ethic.Case management experience.Ability to respond to problems or crisis situations appropriately.
Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a Human Service related field or considerable related experience.Satisfactory results Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI)and FBI background checksNo record of child abuse or neglectThree reference letters from unrelated people (one who has been an Employer/Supervisor) and includes information regarding character, reliability and the ability to form the functions of the position.
