Meet Our Ethiopian Staff
In addition to our full staff in Denver, Colorado, IAN has a full office and staff in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They are responsible for the Ethiopian adoption process and will coordinate all paperwork, court and embassy proceedings.
Abebe Bayou, Ethiopia Director
Abebe Bayou has been with IAN since the start of the Ethiopia program in 2007. Prior to working with IAN, Abebe worked at the Red Cross in Addis Ababa for the infectious diseases unit. He has a big heart for the children of Ethiopia and has helped so many children find their forever families. In our many years working with Abebe, he has never forgotten a single child's name. Abebe is our Ethiopia Director and leads all programming in country.
Yared G, Africa Director Yared G was born and raised in Ethiopia. He spent 10 years as a successful business owner in Denver, Colorado before returning to Ethiopia to work with IAN in 2010. Yared works with all Africa countries to facilitate and organize programing. He loves the children we work with and it is easy to tell the children love him. Asamnew, Social Worker/Investigator Asamnew has a law degree and background working with families and children in Ethiopia. He started working for IAN in early 2011. He teaches law students part time and works full time for IAN. He coordinates with the Embassy, reviewing all documents and submitting files for the final review. Tesfa, Court and MOWA Coordinator Tesfa has years of experience working with inter country adoption in Ethiopia. She works primarily with the Ethiopian adoption courts and MOWA. All families traveling to Ethiopia for Court will meet Tesfa. She loves working with IAN families and children and looks forward to helping many more children find safe and happy homes. Mahelet, Cashier and Coorespondance Mahelet works in the IAN office as our cashier. She is also responsible for electronic correspondence and sends photos, medical updates and paperwork to the IAN staff in the US. Sister Almaz, Head Nurse at the Care Center Sister Almaz has been working with IAN since starting our program. Previous to working with IAN, Sister Almaz was working as a nurse in Ethiopia. She now runs our Care Center and is responsible for supervising all Care Center nannies. Nannies at the Care Center We have over 20 nannies working at our IAN Care Center in Ethiopia. They care for the children day and night and love them like they are their own. Each nanny is fully qualified as a care giver for children of all ages. IAN Care Center Teacher Our Care Center has a school for older children every day. The school teacher teaches the children basic English, songs and common phrases for their futures in the United States.
